Battery LIfe
The batteries when fully charged last only 20 minutes each and by then the trimmer will barely rotate. Batteries also lose their charge if not used often and it may take three to nine hours to fully recharge. It is disheartening to be almost done with the task and lose power.

At least as good as an electric trimmer
After having a few gas trimmers which would get to be hard starting after a year or two and a host of the 120 volt AC trimmers with cords, I decided to try something new.
It works as well as the others even though it is battery powered. I can trim my whole yard in 20 minutes on just one battery with plenty of power left over.
It does not do as good a job of edging as a 4HP edger with a steel blade but it will work well for trimming between serious edging.
If I have one complaint it is that it is unclear how to treat the batteries. Do they stay in the charger forever? The charge light never goes out. How long should they charge at a time? There are no instructions for this.

Pleased that no cords needed
I am pleased with the performance of this trimmer. I'm glad I do not have to hassle with gas miture or weight of trimmer. I have a small yard and wanted an electric trimmer, but didn't like the idea of power cords being pulled all over the yard with the trimmer.

Don't buy it!
Bought this little string trimmer on August 27th.
Worked great for about three to four weeks. The safety switch then hung up. The only way you can turn it off is to unplug the battery. The motor now only lasts for about five minutes before a recharge is needed. Since Amazon's magic return policy only goes for 30 days, I'm out of luck. When I emailed Amazon about the inability to return it, they never even responded to my email. Not buying another Black & Decker product and not buying through Amazon again.Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric 12-Inch Grass Hog String Trimmer/Edger #NST2018

Love it!
This trimmer/edger is light enough to handle and has a battery life that allows me to complete all the yard work around my curbs and fencelines.

Works great if you can get it to work
I am a photographer who bought this generator to power a couple of computers and maybe a printer. It works great for that but you kind of have to trick it into working, meaning you have to be very specific in the way that you plug things into it or else the overload light comes on. It seems to be very sensitive to which extension cord you use, 15ft seems to be the limit. Also, if you use a power strip don't even think about using the switch on it as it will trip the overload every time. The overload situation wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to stop the generator each time to reset it.
After about 20 restarts I figured out you pretty much have to go in order from largest load (My 17" DELL XPS) to the lightest load which was a cheapo Lexmark printer. Any variation caused issues. On the plus side you do feel like you have accomplished something when you get everything up and running. My peak load was 4.7AMPS and it handled it fine, this included a 17" Dell XPS (often running at full load processing pictures), a toshiba 15" Laptop an LG 19" monitor, netgear wireless N router and a cheapo lexmark inkjet.
I have used this generator for 1 event and I am thinking real hard about returning it, there are just too many bugs with it. I wasn't expecting the world with this generator, I was expecting something that would be for the most part hassle free with my small electrical load. What I got was something that is great when it works but frustrating to no end when it doest.

Not bad for the price
For the price it is ok,I was thinking 800 watts would do more than it can,so you are limited to what you can plug into this thing.
The oil is tricky, the manual is unclear.
Put in gas & put oil in the oil reservoir.
IT IS A GAS ENGINE (not a 2 cycle like some think)
3 or 4 pulls and it started up.
Ran smooth and sorta quite.
If you try to plug in a high watt or high amp tool (chainsaw)
The overload light will light will come on,shut it off, wait 1 min, restart it and plug in a lamp or low amp item..then it will work fine.

Light weight, well built, looks good, and is easy to use
Received the shipment on time and in good condition. Well built and runs great. The generator will power a TV but the the picture shows a lot of noise from the generator. Maybe using a long extension cord would improve the picture quality. I have not been able to find anything with a motor that the generator would run. Great for lights or for keeping my battery charged on my RV (that's what I bought it for in the first place). Light weight, looks good, and is easy to use. Just don't by it if you have a tool to run.

Great for the price
It arrived ready to use. Started quickly. Very quiet and seems to be built well. I'm a mobile DJ and I got this to run 2 laptops and 2 hard drives. Could power lots more. Very clean power. Many places I perform have "dirty power" and that affects sound quality. Eastern tools and equipment sent it fast. Has a good owners manual, and a small tool kit with an extra spark plug.

Amazon.com Review:
Clear driveways, walkways, and patios quickly and easily with the Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric Snow Thrower. Compact yet powerful enough to toss snow a distance of 30 feet, this machine is easy to operate and maintain, so you can enjoy the next snowfall without having to worry about whose turn it is to shovel.

Toro's patented Power Curve System employs a unique, curved rotor and a funnel-shaped housing, in addition to wide rubber paddles that propel the machine forward and clean all the way down to the pavement. This technology lets you move more snow in less time, and it virtually eliminates clogging, so you can be confident that your snow thrower will be ready the next time a winter storm comes your way.
With a snow removal capacity of 700 pounds per minute, the Power Curve lets you clear four inches of snow off a 50-by-20-foot driveway in just 10 minutes. The machine's clearing width of 18 inches means that you can clear most walkways with just one or two quick passes. And with a snow cut depth of 10 inches per pass, you won't need to repeat work you've already done, unless you're in the middle of a serious blizzard.
Compact and Easy to Maintain with Electric Power
With no gas or oil to burn through, no spark plugs to change, and no time-consuming tune-ups, this electric snow thrower is a cost-effective, eco-friendly option. Its compact size makes it easier to maneuver than big, gas-powered units, and it's easier to store, too. This makes an electric unit like the Toro 1800 ideal for small spaces like porches, decks, and patios.
When you do want to clear a large area, you'll appreciate the surprisingly powerful nature of this lightweight unit. It features a reliable, series-wound 12 Amp motor, which is designed to produce high torque and operate at relatively low speeds, making it a perfect choice for snow-throwing.
The cord lock system eliminates one of the potential downfalls of using electric products by ensuring your extension cord is reliably locked in place. And with electric power, this snow thrower is easy to start up. Even on the coldest days, it's as simple as squeezing the trigger on the control bar and releasing it when you want to stop. There's no priming or frustrating cord pulling.
Convenient, Ergonomic Features for a Long Life
The trigger is conveniently placed on an ergonomically designed handle for comfort and ease of use, while a key lock means you never have to worry about unauthorized use.
Additionally, a remote crank chute and deflector give you full 180-degree adjustability, so it's easy to throw snow anywhere you want. And a specially-designed lift handle on the top of this 24-pound unit takes the awkwardness out of moving your snow thrower from your garage to your porch or tucking it in your vehicle.
This snow thrower is backed by a full two-year warranty.

Good machine overall
I purchased this machine autumn 2007. We received 5 meters (15 foot) of snow last winter in Québec, useless to say that the snow thrower has to work hard! It performed well to clear the driveway (15x20) and pathway. Since we received that much snow, I found the machine to be limited when having to push the snow high enough to reach the top of the snowdrift. And when the snow is more dense, it's sometimes hard to push the machine through snow because of the large sidewalls (each side of the blade). This is more a problem because of the flimsy handle. The main problem I had with the machine is when snow gets in the case, condensation and humidity make the strap slip so the blade won't turn... When that happens, you have to let the machine dry in a warm dry place and it comes back to normal. That's the main problem with the Toro 1800.

not used yet
It assembled easily and runs,
but we haven't had any snow yet in Chicago
so I haven't used it.

Best Back Saver for the Price
I purchased this Toro 1800 Electric snowthrower last year. I moved to the Midwest 2 years ago. After the first year of shoveling by hand I vowed never to do that again as my back suffered for doing so. This snowthrower does great for 2 feet of snow or less. It throws snow effectively as far as others that cost twice as much. The Toro works at its best after the last of the snow has fallen. I does not work very well after a car has driven over the snow down the driveway. The snowthrower has difficulty scraping the compacted snow with its plastic scraper. The swivel chute has trouble turning in the cold weather, not sure why but its a very basic system that you crank by hand to change the direction of the snow being thrown. Despite these minor discomforts its a great machine that makes an easy time of the snow removal and I no longer dread the snow season. The two year manufacturers warranty is great if it fails to perform you can get repairs done within that period without any cost to you. For my money this was the best option for me as I watched my neighbors trying to start his gas powered snowthrower and by the time he succeded I was finished and resting in my living room drinking my cup of coffee looking out the window at him.

Snow blower
Waiting on the snow..otherwise the assembly went ok. Instructions are pretty simple. Beware of damaging the power cord when assembling the u-shaped handle. Any cuts through the insulation should be noted. The paint and finish are good. Light weight to move..we'll see when the snow hits.

Pretty good
I've had this snow thrower for two winters now, and got it for a steal on Amazon for 6, and it's been well worth. I live north of Detroit, MI and its been able to get through any snow that has come down. If its slushy or wet it doesn't throw it as far, but still gets pretty close to the concrete. I've been surprised that it hasn't broke yet, knock on wood. The wheels are tiny, and its not going to break up any ice or packed down snow, those are the only knocks I have.

Great Little Lawn Tractor
I've had two lawn tractors before I got the Poulon. I got the Poulon direct from the factory in a wooden crate. Getting the machine uncrated was not difficult after I realized I needed to let some air out of the tires so they would pull out of the slats holding the machine firmly in place. All I needed to do was attach the steering wheel, you'll need a cresant wrench. The mower already had oil in it. Added gasoline and it started right off first try. It cuts cleaner (more smoothly) than my old Ranch King. One thing I really like about the Poulon is the extreme ease of manuvering it around. It was almost like I have power steering as compared to the Ranch King or a MTD I owned several years ago. The Poulon makes far sharper turns than the others; not quite zero radius but a lot nearer to it. Another feature I really Appreciate is the neutral key position you can activate in order to cut while in reverse. The feature whereby you can set the hand brake and leave the mower still running, while you get off to remove something in the way, is a big help too. I haven't had the mower long enough to evaluate its longevity; but up to now its been one fine machine.
